Alder Hey Children's Charity takes on London Marathon 2025.

Story

Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page. This race and charity mean a lot to me.

Growing up I heard many stories of my amazing parents running many a London Marathon and always dreamt one day I’d do it.

Then 3 years ago I was diagnosed with ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue syndrome) which as the name suggests meant not only exercise was exhausting but some days getting out of bed was a huge battle. Slowly but surely I’ve been working on management and recovery and being happy with where I was. Then I had a mad idea.

Last year after watching a friend on telly run the London Marathon, I decided I wanted to start running and not just that, I wanted to challenge prove that still my body could do amazing things. I put in for a ballot place honestly believing I’d never get it, in June I did! At this point running a minute was a struggle.

Cut to this week and I’ve completed week 11 of my training plan and ran 16 miles. Something that I genuinely didn’t think I could do.

So I’m finally sharing online because I’m not just doing running to prove I can but I want to raise money for 2 charities very close to my heart and in memory of a friend.

I have worked at Alder Hey Children’s hospital as a musician for over 5 years and I absolutely love it. I’ve played to hundreds of children over the years hopefully making a small part of their stay a little better. It is a truly incredible place so I will be raising money for the Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

So if you are able it would mean the world if you are able donate here to Alder Hey Children’s Charity and support their incredible work.

I’m also raising money for SOBS- Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide and running in Memory of an amazing friend Sophie.
