Growing up I heard many stories of my amazing parents running many a London Marathon and always dreamt one day I’d do it.

Then 3 years ago I was diagnosed with ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue syndrome) which as the name suggests meant not only exercise was exhausting but some days getting out of bed was a huge battle. Slowly but surely I’ve been working on management and recovery and being happy with where I was. Then I had a mad idea.

Last year after watching a friend on telly run the London Marathon, I decided I wanted to start running and not just that, I wanted to challenge prove that still my body could do amazing things. I put in for a ballot place honestly believing I’d never get it, in June I did! At this point running a minute was a struggle.

Cut to this week and I’ve completed week 11 of my training plan and ran 16 miles. Something that I genuinely didn’t think I could do.

So I’m finally sharing online because I’m not just doing running to prove I can but I want to raise money for 2 charities very close to my heart and in memory of a friend.

Last January I, my fiance and many of our friends sadly lost an amazing friend to suicide. She left a massive whole in so many people’s lives and I just wish I could hear her amazing laugh again. So I will also be raising money for Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide and running in memory of Sophie ❤️

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS) is a national charity that provides support to people over the age of 18 impacted by suicide. The mission of SoBS is to provide free peer support to adults bereaved by suicide in a timely and open-ended manner and our vision is that no one bereaved by suicide has to face their loss alone.

I’m also raising money for Alder Hey Children’s charity.
