Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Emma, Grace, Harry and Lecia are taking on the challenge of the Wigley Group Warwick Half Marathon on Sunday 4th February 2024!

We're raising money to support Compton Verney to buy a new electric shuttle bus - a vital bit of kit that makes sure all the incredible art and creativity at Compton Verney is accessible to everyone.

Every year, our existing shuttle bus travels 4,350 miles, helping to take visitors from the car park to the gallery - that's 7,500 trips, and 10,000 passengers! Our existing diesel bus is on its last legs, and we need to raise £36,000 to replace it with a new electric model that will be accessible for everyone. The electric bus will also cut our annual carbon emissions by 2.4 tonnes.

We are training hard in the run up to the challenge, through all the miserable weather the winter is throwing at us – we’ll be out running through rain or shine, so we are ready to face the course in February! The race begins at Warwick Racecourse, then heads out towards Leek Wootton and across the countryside before returning to Warwick for that all-important finish line. We hope you’ll come and cheer us on!

However much you can give will make a big difference, and will spur us on through those chilly winter training sessions.

Thank you for your support,

Emma, Grace, Harry and Lecia
