Story
I'm running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for Guy’s Cancer Charity. It’s been 9 years since I last ran this beautiful route and I’m definitely not chasing a personal best (far from it!), but I am running with purpose, to give something back to a charity that has been very close to home.
Guy’s Cancer Centre has been looking after my partner with incredible care and kindness throughout his cancer journey. The great news is he is 8 months cancer free!
This past year has been one of the toughest we’ve faced, but the team at Guy’s has been outstanding. Their medical expertise, empathy, humour, and humanity have truly carried us through. He has never felt or been treated like just another case.
I’m looking forward to running with purpose, for my amazing family, the fabulous team at Guy’s, and for everyone affected by cancer.
Your donation, no matter how small, will help Guy’s Cancer Centre continue to deliver the outstanding, compassionate care - how your money can help:
£10 could help run a virtual support group session, enabling patients and carers to share their experiences of cancer from the comfort of their own home.
£50 could help provide a comforting care package for someone receiving end of life care, helping to alleviate symptoms and soothe fears.
£150 could provide expert welfare and benefits advice for a patient experiencing financial hardship, giving them the freedom to focus on their recovery.
£350 can help invest in the latest surgical robotic technology, so expert surgeons can work with greater accuracy and send patients home to their families sooner.
Thank you ❤️
