Story

I’m taking part in the World AIDS Day RED RUN 2026 to raise funds for PrEPster, a programme of The Love Tank.

Over the past year, The Love Tank has continued working alongside communities that are too often left out of mainstream health services, including LGBTQ+ people and especially trans communities, Black and brown queer people, migrants, people who use drugs, and others facing barriers to sexual health and wellbeing support.

Through PrEPster and our wider work, we have been delivering community-led education, outreach, research, harm reduction initiatives and advocacy. We have supported people to access PrEP and HIV prevention information, created safer spaces for conversations about sex, drugs, pleasure and health, trained peers and professionals, and worked to make sexual health services more inclusive, accessible and responsive to real community needs.

The money raised through RED RUN helps make this work possible. It can support outreach in community settings, such as our needle exchange programme for trans communities accessing gender-affirming care, as well as outreach in nightlife spaces where we bring sexual health information, harm reduction tools and practical resources around safer drug use directly to the people who need them.

It can also help fund the creation of accessible sexual health resources, including our LBGT programme, peer-led harm reduction work through SDC4ALL, community research, training, and other interventions that support underserved communities to access information, care, dignity and support.

PrEP has transformed HIV prevention, but access is still unequal. Many people still do not know it exists, do not see themselves represented in sexual health messaging, or struggle to access services that understand their lives, cultures, relationships and realities. That is why PrEPster’s work remains so important.

By donating, you’ll be helping us continue to educate, agitate and advocate for better sexual health, better access to PrEP, and better support for the communities most affected by HIV and health inequalities.

Thank you for supporting me, PrEPster, and The Love Tank.
