The Great North Run is the world's largest half marathon with an incredible atmosphere, starting in Newcastle upon Tyne and finishing by the sea in South Shields

Story

This year me and Lucy are running the great north run in memory of our gorgeous Gem.

Gemma was a beautiful soul whose laughter and vibrance filled every room, but her life was tragically cut short by sepsis, a condition that many people still don’t fully understand.

I’m hoping to raise some money to help support sepsis research. With every donation, you’re not only honouring her memory but also helping to educate others about this condition.

Your contribution can help fund vital research that could save lives and provide resources for families affected by sepsis.

Whether you can donate or simply share this story, your support means the world to us as a family. Although our grief will never leave us we can put it into action and hopefully we can make a difference in the lives of those battling sepsis.

Together, we can help spread awareness in memory of Gemma just as she would like us to do.

Gemma was such a free spirit who would always challenge herself and be the first to help others so, it is only fitting for me to try do something challenging myself in her name.

I’m not much of a runner but if it can even help one family it will be worth it!

In memory of Gemma Elizabeth McLean - Forever 33 🤍

Thank you for your kindness and support.

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. With your support, we can make a difference.
