Story
In April I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in aid of Young Minds Matter, a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people’s mental health.
Making your mind a safe and positive place to be is so important, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible and unwavering support I’ve received from my family and professionals. No one should have to suffer alone and everyone should have access to the resources and support they need. Training for the LLHM has reminded me in particular of how impactful physical movement towards a goal can be for the mind and I hope to raise awareness of the benefits which I have gained from taking part in this challenge. If my fundraising can help even one person feel supported it would mean the world to me and I so appreciate any donations, no matter the size, for this fantastic charity.
Young Minds Matter is an amazing non profit that receives no government or NHS funding and relies entirely on donations and fundraising. They provide essential resources and support for young people struggling with their mental health. By working closely with schools across Warwickshire they offer a 1:1 mentoring service for young people aged 5-18 free of charge to ensure their services are as accessible as possible. Young Minds Matter strongly believes in the power of music to transform mental health and host inspirational fundraising events and concerts to showcase the amazing talents of young people and promote mental health awareness.
Thank you so much for reading my pitch, I so appreciate any donations - see you in April!
A team of wonderful YMM supporters are taking on the LLHM to raise money for our vital mentoring service, providing free mentors to students in state primary and secondary schools across Coventry and Warwickshire.
