Story
This summer, I will be participating in the Hudson Valley Triathlon to raise awareness and funds for Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP), the only international organization dedicated solely to supporting families affected by this condition. APP provides peer support, clinician training, and advocacy that truly makes a difference.
Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) is a UK charity focused on ensuring that mothers, parents, and families receive support during postpartum psychosis—a severe but treatable mental illness that affects approximately 1,400 new mothers in the UK each year.
As a psychologist specializing in reproductive mental health, I have worked closely with individuals navigating postpartum psychosis. I have witnessed its impact firsthand and understand how life-saving the right support can be. Unfortunately, many suffer in silence.
This race is also personal for me. After facing cancer in adulthood, training for a triathlon is my way of reclaiming strength and joy, as well as standing with those who are rebuilding after a crisis.
My goal is to raise $500 to support this essential work. If you are able to contribute or share this message, I would greatly appreciate your help in advancing this cause.
With love,
Eliza
