Aggies are a charity for the families of Royal Naval families. If you know someone in the Royal Navy or Royal Marines they will have benefited from the support Aggies provide. My husband joined the forces at 16 where he received pastoral support all through training, now nearly 10 years later his wife (me) and 2 children receive this support weekly. Aggies is a warm hug, a shoulder to cry on, a pick me up of the days that are hard.

I personally struggled with postnatal depression after the birth of my second in 2024. Without my local family centre and the Aggies team it would have been a lot darker. I could arrive enjoy a hot cup of tea and have a non judgmental chat. I’ve also made some of my closest friends through these coffee mornings.

As a thank you for their amazing workers, I have set a challenge for myself to trek the Sahara and raise money for them. Personally I don’t tend to even walk to my local shop so trekking in a dessert Is waaaay out of my comfort zone. Over the next 8 months I’m going to be preparing for the final trek.
