This August I’m taking on the challenge of swimming the Solent - from my home in Gosport to the Isle of Wight.

I can see the Isle of Wight on my beautiful walks down on Stokes Bay and have always wanted to swim over …. It feels like it’s in touching distance …. It’s a 3 mile swim ….. I’ve been open water swimming now for more than a year and it’s helped me to rebuild / refind me. My friends and family also know I’m driven by a challenge and whilst this is a slightly daunting one I know it will bring me joy.

This is a personal objective of mine but also for a charity I’ve raised for before - swimming the English Channel in my local swimming pool through covid gave me purpose and direction at another tough time.

I’ve suffered with on and off back aches and pains and am very grateful to be able to physically do what I want to in life. This charity helps those who are not so fortunate and I’m glad to be able to support .
