Story
Intrigue got the better of us and we applied for a space thinking there's no way we would get one, but here we are... The most both of us have ever run in a race is 10K and whilst Pete will be aiming for an impressive finish time, my aim is just to get to the finish line. I am certainly not a runner, but pushing myself to raise money for a charity very close to mine and my family's hearts.
We will be running the London Marathon 2025 for Meningitis Now. In May 2016, my beautiful stepsister, Izzy, passed away tragically from meningitis. She was only 16 years old and whilst the inquest found many external factors contributed to her death, one of the main ones was the lack of awareness around the disease, including from medical professionals, too. Meningitis Now hopes to raise awareness for all, as well as support families who have lost loved ones. Over 50k has already been raised in memory of Izzy through her family and friends, and I hope to raise a little bit (quite a bloody lot actually!) more running the London Marathon, accompanied by my better half, Pete.
As a requirement of gaining a charity place, between us, we have to raise a minimum of £4000. If you can, please donate. Knowing we have donations will certainly help motivate us to get out training, especially on the cold and wet hill sprints!
Thank you in advance, we really appreciate any donation you can spare.
Much love,
Betty and Pete x
