At the end of March 2026 Mags, Nic, Jacqui and Liz will be attempting to complete the Bath 50k Ultra Challenge, walking 50k in 12 hours, to raise vital funds to support their charity, Little John’s House. Started over 30 years ago as a secure home supporting young people with special needs in Romania, the charity also runs an annual summer school, bringing in hundreds of local children and outreach programs helping some of the poorer families by handing out food parcels and clothing.

A group of hardworking volunteers have been fundraising and gathering individuals who donate regularly to the charity. As costs have risen year on year, our work has become altogether more difficult and we are constantly looking for new fundraising ideas. We are also faced with ongoing difficulties as this past summer the village endured an awful flash flood which destroyed our well, the only water supply. Added to this the heating system and cooker packed up!

We are hoping to raise enough money to carry out essential work at the house and potentially have some extra to bring joy to the young people this summer.
