Story
Please help me honor Tom's memory in a way that would have mattered to him.
Tom loved dogs. Our dogs were his constant companions during his stroke recovery—sleeping next to him when I couldn't be there, offering unconditional comfort when everything else was hard.
Recently, I came across the story of Stormzy, a street puppy in Thailand who was in an accident that left him brain damaged. He couldn't walk. His future looked grim.
But Happy Doggo took him in. They patiently rehabilitated him—working with him day after day, celebrating small victories, never giving up. Eventually, Stormzy was able to walk again. Then run. He was adopted by a family that loves him dearly.
Stormzy's journey reminded me so much of what Tom went through after his stroke. The patience required. The small victories that felt like miracles. The determination to keep going even when progress seemed impossible. The love and care that made recovery possible.
It also reminds me of my own recovery from brain surgery. The slow rebuilding. The frustration. The gratitude for people who don't give up on you.
Happy Doggo feeds, sterilizes, and provides emergency medical care to street dogs in Thailand. They give second chances to dogs that most people would overlook.
I think if Tom had known about this charity, he would have figured out a way to volunteer for them—regardless of his own physical limitations. He would have been there, doing what he could, because that's who he was.
Please consider donating to Happy Doggo in Tom's memory.
