In September I'll be taking part in the Great North Run Half Marathon (my first ever half marathon!) to raise money for Tiny Paws MCR.

They're an incredible charity, home-based, vegan-run small animal rescue in Sale, South Manchester. They've made a strong commitment to animal rights and promoting the natural behaviors of rodents and rabbits in captivity. Since their establishment in early 2019, they've been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming these animals and ensuring they receive the care they deserve. All staff at Tiny Paws are volunteers (they take no wage from the rescue funds) and run the rescue alongside their full-time day jobs.

I adopted my hamster Charlie from Tiny Paws back in August 2022, who found himself at the rescue when his mum unexpectedly turned out to be pregnant and surprised the owner who'd just bought her! Tiny Paws do an amazing job taking in animals in need, and I'm forever grateful to the amazing start they gave Charlie, and the incredible work they do promoting proper small animal care. Such small animals often get overlooked, and deserve to lead full and enriching lives.
