I'm sure everyone knows about Bertie, my mini dachshund, and how spoilt he is. I want to support a charity that looks out for and looks after dachshunds that are not as fortunate as Bertie.

I don't like heights but I'm going to challenge myself to do a skydive because if not now, when?! Embrace the crazy!

I've just had my date confirmed - 12th July 2026 in Nottingham.

The Red Foundation is an ever growing team of dachshund owners committed to helping dachshunds and dachshund cross breeds from any walks of life find their forever home.

Our mission is to protect the health and well-being of every Dachshund in our care, and this is very important to us. We are also advocates of the breed and take our role as social educators very seriously.

We understand what a heartbreaking decision it can be to surrender a dog for rehoming. Whatever the reason our team will act with empathy, compassion and understanding.

If we can, we will always offer support to try and help you keep your dog. This could be behaviour support, offering our medical knowledge or just an ear to run through any issues you may be facing, our team will try and find a solution to your problems to pre empt surrendering and rehoming your dog.

Once a dog is rehomed by The Red Foundation, it will remain a Red Foundation dog for life. There are various reasons why a dog might need to be re-surrendered to us after an adoption has taken place, and we are committed to ensuring any dog who comes into our care can not be passed on to a third party without our knowledge. This forms part of the adoption contract all adopters sign.
