Update 26 th September

Hello Everyone.....

I am so pleased to be able to share with you all that I finally completed my glider flight challenge on Tuesday 24 th September....

But with a twist !!

It was touch and go if any flying would happen at all as very bad visibility again on arrival.....

However,

After lunch the clouds started to lift slightly and after a long wait they decided that they could fly us using their powered glider

This would be a safer option that day and would enable us to fly with the lower cloud

So I got all togged up and set off on my bumpy ,fast mission.....

We were airborne and it was amazing.....

However....

As I was flying around I was so determined to be able to do an actual " glider flight" that on my bumpy landing I asked if we waited and all day if necessary if I could do my challenge in a glider non powered if the weather cleared up

As I DIDN'T feel I had done what I promised everyone...

So we were lucky to find a slot at 3:45pm and it all began again....

Got togged up with parachute sat in front of glider with my pilot Guy who was so patient and kind and off we went.....

We were towed very fast by a plane across the top off sutton bank ,very bumpy and were towed over the edge into a completely different world....

No noise apart from the wind and soared like a bird....

Truly a wonderful experience,

Amazing and unbelievable....

My challenge was happening and I didn't want it to end

So today I write this and thank each and everyone of you that has so Very kindly donated to this charity so close to my heart

I am absolutely overwhelmed by everyone's kindness love and support

My total is still rising so this makes me very Proud and Pleased.

With best wishes ,

Liz xx

Update 20 th September

Hi everyone,

My glider flight hopefully is getting closer again ,very nervous .

Once again I would just like to thank everyone so much indeed for their continued donations and support for Neuroendocrine Cancer Uk.

Hopefully I will be able to fly on Tuesday...... I'll keep you posted.

Best wishes,

Liz.

Update 03/09/24

Thank You to everyone who has very kindly supported me to raise funds and awareness for NEUROENDOCRINE CANCER UK.

I appreciate each and everyone ,thank you.

Unfortunately due to the weather conditions at Sutton Bank yesterday I couldn't fly as the visibility was zero.......

I WAS so disappointed.......

But not to be out done, the torture is re booked for the 24 th September again at 1pm .

Weather Permitting !!!

So the good news is,

More time to raise more money and more time to be more terrified!!!!!

If not I'll try ,try and try again.

Please keep supporting and sharing this worthy cause

Also....

I would like to thank all the people who very kindly gave up their time yesterday to come and watch me glide( or not !!)

It meant so much to me.

Including my 93 year old Mum and nearly 99 year old Aunt.

And many thanks to Andrew and Tony too for letting us use a glider and helping us so much.

Thank you ,

Liz .

Update 24/08/24

Hello everyone.....

Only just over a week to go till Monday the 2 nd September.

Getting really nervous now but am so overwhelmed by the continued kindness and support that everyone has given to my glider flight fundraiser for

Neuroendocrine Cancer UK.

"They rely on the generosity and kindness from people like you to continue supporting the Neuroendocrine Cancer community and to help them get one step closer to reaching their vision of a world in which people know how to recognise, diagnose, treat, care for, and ultimately, cure patients with Neuroendocrine Cancer.

So I'm all set even more to see if I can push my target any higher !!!

Best wishes,

Liz.

On Monday the 2nd September 2024 I am planning to face one of my biggest challenges yet…

I will try and do a glider flight from Sutton Bank

Weather Permitting !!

To raise money for Nueroendocrine Cancer UK

https://www.neuroendocrinecancer.org.uk

Bearing in mind I have a total fear of flying and heights !!!

In August 2021 I was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer with a tumour in the head of my Pancreas once a month I have an injection to hopefully keep my cancer stable

Now is the time for me to give something back for this charity they have supported me and helped me along my journey so much and got me to where I am today

If I can raise some awareness of this rare cancer

And some money for them as well then I will be pleased and proud

The work that they do is phenomenal……

So all I ask is to please take time to visit their website and to pass on the message to other people

It is only by raising awareness of this rare cancer and by FUNDRAISING the ongoing research that they can help provide the support and care the charity has given and continues to give to people like me and others

So please help me to fulfil this challenge

Please donate via :

Thank you in anticipation….

So only just over a month to go ,so I'm staying focused and looking forward to it although very nervous.
