Elizabeth's and Vicky’s fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Liverpool Women’s Run 10K · 1 September 2024
1 year ago from this run date I was just coming out of hospital after a sudden need for hospitalisation due to a blockage in my lungs. I always took advantage of my condition and health not really, having the privilege to not really think about it. Since that time I have taken time to really look into my condition, find a community of other CFers online and also sadly lost one of them to said condition. Now I wish to give back by pushing myself to do a 10K run for the CF Trust.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
