Story
This year I will be running the Great North Run to fundraise in support of Fibromyalgia Action UK. My little brother Sam and I will also be running the mini Great North Run the day before. We are hoping to raise awareness and funds for a charity close to our hearts, running in support of our lovely mam who was diagnosed with this illness 5 years ago. While fibromyalgia makes her day to day life more challenging than we could imagine, she is always an amazing mam and our inspiration in all that we do. We hope that our fundraising will help improve the lives of people with Fibromyalgia and aid in advancements in research. Below is a summary of what Fibromyalgia is and how it affects daily life. Any donations are extremely appreciated.
Fibromyalgia is a recognised chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. A common illness with an est. prevalence of 2.9% - 4.7%. The pain tends to be felt as diffuse aching or burning, often described as head to toe. It may be worse at some times than at others and may also change location, usually becoming more severe in parts of the body that are used most.
