Story
Selfless is a social enterprise with a mission to create effective, sustainable solutions to some of the most pressing global health challenges.
This summer I will be going with Selfless to volunteer in Bangladesh and take part in their global health leadership programme. I am incredibly proud to offer my skills as a new doctor and learn from a remarkable team of local healthcare professionals and NGOs committed to health equality.
Your donations will support 3 key projects run by Selfless in rural Bangladesh:
* Upahar: Low-cost baby bundles – evidence-based interventions to make pregnancy safer and improve outcomes for mother and baby.
* Porishkar: Mobile cataract service to – improving eye health and restoring sight as well as livelihoods by enabling people to work and provide for their families.
* Brush with Kindness: Dental hygiene education programme – to improve oral health and prevent oral disease in rural areas where little or no access to a dentist.
In order to fundraise I will be walking a marathon - please feel free to join me for parts of the walk throughout the day:
8:00 - 9:30am Hampstead Heath Station to Kenwood and back
10:30am - 11:30am Primrose Hill to Regent’s Park ending by Marylebone
12:00 - 1:00pm: Marble Arch to walk round Hyde park
2:15pm for Thames Path Walk from Westminster (approx 2.5hrs total but no need to join for the full thing)
