I work as a Children’s Nurse on Willow Ward, every day we care for young patients going through difficult experiences. Hospital stays can be frightening and overwhelming, which is why having a dedicated playroom is so important.

A playroom gives children a sense of normality during a time that feels anything but normal. It provides a safe space where they can relax, play, express themselves, and take their minds off treatments and procedures. Play helps reduce anxiety, supports emotional wellbeing, and allows children to simply be children, even while they are unwell.

Our current playroom is in need of a refresh, and we hope to create a brighter, more welcoming space with updated toys, activities, and equipment for children of all ages.
