Story
On 21st June 2025, I’ll be taking on a huge challenge —hiking 30km along the Cotswold Way, tackling over 1,000 of incline, all in support of Parkinson’s UK.
This will be my first-ever fundraiser, and I’ve never walked for more than an hour or two, so a six-hour hike will definitely push me out of my comfort zone! But I’m doing this in memory of my incredible dad Mick Higgs, who battled Parkinson’s and sadly passed away from leukaemia at just 36.
As I have turned 36 this year, it felt like the right time to challenge myself. He wasn’t able to see me grow up or meet my wonderful daughter, so I wanted to do something with him at the focus.
As an ex England rugby player, I want to make him proud by taking on something tough—something that will help raise awareness and vital funds for others affected by Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s UK is a fantastic charity that provides vital support to those living with the disease and their families, as well as funding groundbreaking research to find better treatments and ultimately, a cure.
If you can, please consider donating to support this amazing cause. Every penny will make a difference, and your encouragement will help me through every tough step of the hike!
Thank you so much for your support—it truly means the world.
