Story
Every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.
I'm doing the 28 in February challenge where I'll be aiming to run more than 28 miles to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK. I'm doing it for my Nanny who died of a stroke in 2020 and suffered from Alzheimer's dementia disease previous to this. She was the most fun-loving, kindest and happiest person I've ever known. I have so many memories through the years of her reading stories to me when I was younger, going out on fun trips on the beach, dancing in the lounge and kitchen to Abba and always smiling and having fun together. This disease was dehabilitating and through the years I could see her struggle as she forgot something or had lost some of her amazing memories and stories. The work Alzheimers Research UK is doing is inspiring and through your donations hopefully we can stop this disabling disease and help all of our loved ones.
