Story
This year marks 10 years since my amazing Auntie Tracey lost her battle with cancer.
People would describe her as kind, caring, selfless and most importantly strong. I considered my Auntie to have been a huge female role model in my life. Her battle was long, with so many difficult situations thrown in the mix, but she was the epitome of strength throughout.
During her last few days, as a family, we were so grateful to the Princess Alice Hospice that cared for her and after she passed, we had the chance to look through her diary that she kept where she spoke about her journey and the front cover had the quote:
"A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she's in hot water"
10 years later, this quote stuck in my head and I never forgot it.
Since so much of what I stand for today is around encouraging women to be strong, I decided what better way to celebrate her and the example of strength she was in my life than by hosting my own strength and fitness class in her memory.
Since the class will be a one-time event with limited spaces I have decided to set this page up for anyone who wishes to show their support.
£350 will support the Princess Alice Hospice by funding
- 2 hours of support with a physio
- A nurse to visit and care for someone in their own home
- 3 hours of care for someone in their patient unit
- A dovetail session for a child who's lost a parent
