Simon was the cousin of my very close friends Emma, Kate, Sarah, Tom & Ben. In 2020 his life was cut short in a tragic paddleboarding accident. I was talking to Simon's father at a recent family wedding and he told me about a group that was getting together to run a half marathon and raise funds for The Simon Flynn Educational Foundation, a charity founded to help children, in memory of his dear son. So here I am, and what a wonderful opportunity to get my running shoes back on, and try to raise as much as I can for this inspiring and worthy cause. The Simon Flynn Educational Foundation was formed in memory of Simon Flynn, an inspirational teacher who lived and worked in Gloucestershire. Simon was passionate about giving all children the opportunity to become resilient, confident, and enthusiastic learners.

The Foundation aims to continue this legacy. The Foundation partners with local schools, providing resources to help remove obstacles that may prevent children having the opportunity to learn and thrive. For more info contact:
