On July 31st 2025, at just 44, my dad lost his battle to Motor Neurone Disease.

My dad was my best friend and biggest role model. He worked so unbelievably hard to provide for my mum, sister and I and I’ll forever be grateful for everything he did for us.

From the moment he was diagnosed no two days where the same as the disease took away every bit of his independence; his walking, eating, talking and ultimately his breathing. Watching MND take away life as he knew it was heartbreaking and puts into perspective how important it is to live every day to its fullest.

Despite the challenges he faced, my dad fought so hard until his last day and I was and will always be so proud of him.

I’m running the Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon on May 10th 2026 to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association to raise money in the hope that one day a cure will be found.
