Story
I am running the Saucony London 10K to raise vital funds for Endometriosis UK!
Endometriosis is the name given to the condition where cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb (uterus) are found elsewhere in the body. It is a chronic and often debilitating condition that can cause significant pain.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, that's as many as diabetes yet very few people have even heard of it. The impact can be felt for life and there is no cure. It takes an average of 8 years to get a diagnosis of endometriosis in the UK.
I was diagnosed with endometriosis following two surgeries in 2024 and 2025, affecting multiple areas of my body. While I’m grateful to the NHS for providing treatment, it took over a decade for my symptoms to be diagnosed and years of appointments and tests without clear answers. Women are often told that painful periods are normal, requiring us to advocate for ourselves to be taken seriously.
Your donations will mean that Endometriosis UK can continue to support those affected, so others will be listened to sooner, receive fairer treatment and eventually a cure.
