Ellen's fundraiser for Stroke Association

Ellen Watson is raising money for Stroke Association

Hackney Half Marathon 2025 · 18 May 2025 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

In November 2024, my Dad unexpectedly had a stroke. My Mum immediately recognised the signs and was able to seek medical support for him quickly. Luckily he has not suffered any permanent damage, but it was an extremely scary experience.

I’ll be running the Hackney Half in May 2025 to raise money for the stroke association, whose resources and support have been invaluable for my family and so many others when recovering from a stroke. I really appreciate any donation you can make!

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
