Story
As most of you know, my name is Ellena Demetriou. I have recently turned 60 years old and what a better way to celebrate than raising money for a charity that is very close to my heart.
I have challenged myself with the 100 meter abseil down the Spinnaker Tower on Sunday 5th May at 12pm.
The reason I have chosen this particular charity is because I have witnessed how debilitating this disease can be. I recently lost my Auntie Molly who suffered for many years with this disease. I have another Auntie who is battling day to day life with this illness. I also work with several vulnerable adults who are suffering.
Parkinson’s effects every day living. From being unable to do simple daily tasks, to being unable to communicate. Some of the common symptoms are tremors, bradykinesia, rigid muscles, impaired posture and balance, speech changes and writing changes.
This is going to be a fun but challenging way (as I am only 4ft 11🤣) to raise awareness for an amazing charity that is working very hard to give people their lives back!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Any donations are greatly appreciated!
