Story
The Mental Health Foundation is the UKs charity for everyones mental health.
With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive.
I’ve always been a ‘sporty’ person but would never have considered myself a ‘runner’ until last summer I completed my first half marathon.
Running isn’t just exercise it is a lifestyle. After struggling with anxiety for most of my life it became clear to me when training last year that running truly lifts a load and acts as its own medication for so many mental health related problems. Moving our bodies, being outside and working towards something to be proud of being key to lifting our mood.
I am so thrilled to be working towards another half marathon this year, where I will be doing something that makes me feel good whilst raising money for people with mental health all over the UK and to make it even better doing it around a city I love.
