Trek for Tomorrow 2025 · 7 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

We’ll walk for those we’ve lost. We’ll walk to celebrate those who've survived. And we’ll walk to smash the stigma around suicide and get people talking. This isn’t a walk in the park - it’s a life-changing (and life-saving) trek.

Story

Hello everyone!

In just a few months, us Hockens will be supporting CALM by taking part in their Trek for Tomorrow. On Sunday, September 7th, 2025, we’ll be joining a brilliant crew of people plus Danny from McFly (yep, I’ll be singing to him the whole way: “dooo, dooo, doooo-ooo”) to walk 30km across the beautiful but thigh-destroying Peak District.

We’ll be honouring our big bro, and the rents' first born, Alex, who would have turned 40 this year, and who absolutely loved the Peaks.

Alex was happiest in nature - cycling up mammoth hills in the West Country, climbing cliffs in Sheffield, diving off the Bristol shoreline, or chasing Cornish waves (a challenge, given how rare the big ones are).

Being in nature is also what got us Hockens through the unbearable first few years after losing Alex in 2016. He’s one of 125 people in the UK who lose their lives to mental ill-health every single week.

Thankfully, so much has changed since then. The incredible team at CALM is working tirelessly to remove the stigma around suicide and mental health. Let’s keep lifting the taboo around sharing how we’re feeling. No one should ever feel alone, or like their life isn’t worth saving. Everyone deserves to be here. Some people just need a little reminder. Let’s help save a life.

We’re trekking for the tomorrow Alex didn’t get and the tomorrow we all deserve. Goodbye thighs, goodbye little trotters, it's been nice knowing you.

We know times are hard and the cost of living is a lot right now, so we’re truly grateful for anything you can give 💫

As Alex used to say: peas and love.
