Ellie-May's fundraiser for Two Little Birds The Riley and Trey Foundation

Ellie-May Mitchell is raising money for Two Little Birds The Riley and Trey Foundation

Walking 100 miles in September

Every action, every voice, and every donation helps us break the silence and give hope. Together, we can make a difference for the young people of Dorset.

Story

I’m walking 100 miles this September for National Suicide Prevention Month, raising money for Two Little Birds – The Riley & Trey Foundation. I originally planned to walk for Papyrus, but after they went into administration, I knew I wanted to continue this challenge with a charity that means something real to our community.

Growing up, I saw people close to me struggle quietly with their mental health. I watched how those battles shaped their lives — how silence can change someone’s confidence, their choices, their future. Those experiences taught me how important it is to have support, to be listened to, and to know you’re not carrying everything alone.

I also knew family and friends of Riley and Trey, and I’ve seen how deeply their loss changed the people who loved them. Their strength, their heartbreak, and the love behind this charity make this walk personal. Two Little Birds was created to support young people across Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester, helping them recognise warning signs, find safe spaces, and get the help they deserve before things reach crisis point.

And I’m not just walking these 100 miles alone. I’m doing it with my family and friends and anyone who wants to be apart of this journey, because no one should ever have to walk through their hardest moments by themselves. Every step is a reminder that support matters, community matters, and no one deserves to feel alone.

Every mile is for the young people who feel unheard, for the families who’ve lived this pain, and for the hope that more lives can be protected.

Thank you for supporting Two Little Birds and helping keep more young people safe.
