I’ve decided to take on Ben Nevis in May, in honour of my stepdad Darty who passed away from cardiac sarcoma in July 2024. Darty’s fight started a couple of years after we lost my mum in August 2020, and was filled with every emotional rollercoaster fathomable. He fought with every cell in his body til the very end, and truly earned the “warrior” title. His determination to live life to the fullest and be the healthiest you can be has spurred me on to better myself and ensure I’m around for my family for as long as possible - it has also given me the extra push to challenge myself to this walk.

Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.

Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.

Those who know me well will know I’ve never been the most active or sporty of people, but I’m determined to make it happen and, along the way, raise as much money as I can for a very important cause.
