Ellie's London Marathon fundraiser page for Alzheimer's Research

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I’m incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) to announce that I’ll be running the 2025 London Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a charity that is extremely close to my heart and my family’s. This challenge is especially meaningful to me because we’ve felt the impact of Alzheimer’s firsthand.
In 2016, we lost my lovely Grandma Peggy to this cruel disease, and more recently, my uncle Rob has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Watching them struggle with the disease has been heartbreaking, but it’s also given me a deep passion for supporting the vital work of Alzheimer’s Research UK in the hope of finding a cure.
After securing a marathon place last year, I was unfortunately sidelined by a hip injury. But now, I’m back, stronger and more determined than ever to complete my first-ever marathon—hopefully injury-free this time!
Every donation, big or small, will bring us closer to breakthroughs in Alzheimer’s research. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia and your donation helps our scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.
I'll be tracking my training on this page so you can see how my journey is going..It's going to be a challenge but I couldn't be more excited :)
Thank you so much for your support and bring on April 2025!!
