Hi, I'm Ellie and I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year at the age of 32. This came as a total shock and has turned my life upside down. Throughout all the operations, chemotherapy and uncertainty, Maggie's Glasgow has been and continues to be there for me.

I have been fortunate enough to benefit from their support, but I know that their ability to provide classes, counselling, financial advice, unlimited tea etc. costs around £3000 a day, so they rely on fundraising support to keep the doors open. So please, if you are able, consider supporting Maggie's! You never know when you or a loved one might need them.

Maggie's also supported one of the best friends a girl could ask for through her dad's cancer, so this is also for Steve.

With some of my colleagues, I am aiming to cycle 56 miles round the Isle of Arran before walking up the highest mountain there, Goatfell. It’s going to be a real challenge as I’ve not cycled regularly since before I was diagnosed, and my treatment is ongoing. At some point between now (early February) and May I will be having another major operation. However, in some way or another I WILL be there and giving it my best shot.
