On the 13th July 2026 our beautiful son Ellis was delivered stillborn, until this point our pregnancy with him had been nothing short of perfect.

Nothing could have prepared us for having to say goodbye to our little boy and having to explain to his big brother and sister that he would not be coming home as expected.

During the hardest days of our lives, we were given an incredible gift.. time. Thanks to an Abi cooling cot donated by another family through Abigail’s footsteps we were able to keep Ellis with us after he was born. We dressed him, cuddled him, took photos, introduced him to his big brother and sister and created memories we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Those precious days and hours are something we can never get back and they would not have been possible without an Abi cot and our incredible bereavement midwives.

Our goal as a family is to raise the funds to donate an Abi cot in memory of Ellis in the hopes that another family in our situation will also have the chance to make invaluable memories with their baby.

ABIGAILS FOOTSTEPS;

The cooling cot helps parents to bond with their baby and aids the grieving process. Since 2017, Abigail’s Footsteps, in partnership with The Bond Group, has delivered over 300 Abi Cooling Cots to hospitals and hospices across the UK and Ireland. In 2025, we even shipped five cots to Australia, because every family deserves this gift of time no matter where they are.

It is our mission to encourage all bereavement suites in hospitals to have at least two cooling cots.
