Our little Leo "The lion" was born with a congenital deformity known as talipes foot. A condition that effects 1 in 1,000 babies. Leo, already at 14 months old, has had numerous casting's to manipulate the foot, a surgical procedure on his achillies and will be in boots and bars until he is 5 years old. This comes with sleepless nights, blisters and a delay in walking.

Luckily Leo's condition is being treated and he will grow to have an active, physical life like any other child. Unfortunately for some families the prognosis isn't as positive, talipes can also come with other congenital defects such as chromosome abnormalities, Spina Bifida and genetic syndromes.
