Story

On Sunday 12th April I’ll be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon once again, raising money for the brilliant Live Music Now. And because apparently just running 13.1 miles isn’t quite enough, I’ll be heading straight from the finish line to The Admiralty to play a Kyntra set with Henry Webster.

The whole run-then-gig tradition started three LLHMs ago when I first joined the Live Music Now team. We joked afterwards that it would be nice to celebrate with a gig… which somehow turned into me volunteering to actually perform one the following year. This April will be the third run/gig LLHM and feel more excited than ever…new running shoes AND new songs! I’ve also ended up performing at The Admiralty fairly regularly, so it’s become a bit of a ‘home gig’. Though normally I’m not as sweaty as I will be on 12th April.

Live Music Now is an incredible charity that connects professional musicians with people who might not otherwise have access to live performance — in care homes, schools for children with additional needs, hospitals and community spaces. It’s a cause that means a lot to me personally, and LMN also provides work for more than 300 musicians, giving us the chance to bring music into places where it can make a real difference. This year in particular I’ve been involved in some of the most special and meaningful projects of my career through LMN, and I’m hugely grateful to be part of it.

If you’re able to sponsor me, I’d really appreciate it. Every donation helps LMN continue this important work — and it will definitely help keep my legs moving during the run and my voice and fingers going afterwards!

The gig itself is free entry (and of course donations are welcome!) so if you’re around and fancy marking the occasion, come join in the fun! Henry and I will be playing a bunch off of tunes from the Kyntra album (and perhaps even something new), and I’ll also be singing some new EM solo songs.

See you at the finish line, or at the show afterwards!
