Story
I cannot believe I’m writing this, but myself and wonderful Sister in Law, Katie, are running the London Marathon next year. You may all be laughing at this point already, because let’s be honest, I had a sick note every Tuesday at school when I had to do PE, I can’t run 26cm let alone 26 miles.
However, I am running for a really special cause, Sarcoma UK a charity that is dear to my heart. As you all know last year we unfortunately lost my Uncle Andy Bird, to an incurable case of Epithelioid Sarcoma. ES is an incredibly rare, aggressive and slow growing form of soft tissue cancer, so rare that it only affects up 1% of soft tissue sarcomas. My uncle was the bravest, he fought so hard and for so long. Every day we miss him so much.
This is why I have decided to run for Sarcoma UK, I will be setting up a just giving page for donations, and we will be holding fundraisers with raffles and other events in order to reach our target of £2500. Please be as generous as you can, it would mean the world to myself, my family and for those affected by Sarcoma, all fundraising goes towards future research, trials of medicine, gene testing and so much more.
Sarcoma UK are currently running their awareness month, please like, share and read the information, it could one day save yours or a loved one’s life.
I will be keeping everyone updated on my training (god help me), fundraising events and everything else on both Instagram and on here! Come along for the ride, it’s going to be wild, and thank you so so much in advance 💛
I’m supporting Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
