Dear Friends
In October last year, my youngest sister Gabs Hartley Booth age 33 was in a near fatal car accident and has sustained life changing brain injuries. She is currently being looked after at the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for the Disabled in Leatherhead. They are the most incredible team and have supported my family in so many ways. While we are praying for a full recovery, at present, Gabs is unable to move her body without help, and she needs support for her head. Her cognition is slow at times and she recalls little post her accident, but she can mouth her words and she laughs and smiles and beams out love where ever she is able.
The Queen Elizabeth Foundation are experts in their field and the care, love and support that Gabs has received these past months have been second to none. They also support Gabs family and friends. Her husband Pete is able to visit nearly every day and he and the wider family are encouraged to take part in her rehab. The Foundation provides time and space for their son Pax age 5 to be with his mother and they enjoy activities together that are specific to Gabs' ability.

On the 6th September I will be participating in 'The Monster of the Loch Row" alongside my team mates, Phillipa, Jane, Rachel and Claire. We will be rowing the length of Loch Ness and the 34 kilometres will take about 3 and a half hours to complete. The Queen Elizabeth Foundation is one of the two charities my crew have really kindly offered to support. The other is the Douglas Bader Foundation for Amputees for Phillipa's husband, Rory.
