Story

So..... What has Eloise gone and got herself into....?!?!!!!!

in Mum's spirit, I have gone and signed myself up to an ULTRA WALK...

ON SATURDAY 16th MAY, I'LL BE WALKING 58KM ! IN ONE GO!

alongside my sisters 🐦‍🔥🦚, my fairy godmother 🧚 and a bunch 💐 of mum’s beautifully mad friends!!! 👣👣👣👣👣👣

I will be walking this mad walk just like my mum walked a mad 54km walk from Paris to Mantes with her girlfriends many moons ago. I think 2007?! Will have to ask Linda, San and Lesley!

I’m hoping I won't end up with the same gigantic blisters that she did that go in between each toe and go BANG instead of POP!!

Mum is with me in this new way that I'm just getting to know which is mind-boggling, many times I have felt I’m in water too deep to stand in. I have to remind myself to swim, to take a look under the water’s surface, see what’s happening below.

I know when the going gets tough, I'll hear her voice and I'll remember how much motivation and will power she had and how inspiring that IS as her daughter!!!

As well as the team of Sally’s adventurers and my own mind and body, she'll be the one getting me through this thing!

I need to raise £375.00!!!!

If 75 people donate £5.00, I’ll have reached my total 🧡

I am fundraising for Sands, a charity speaking up about all types of baby loss.

I hope this opens a space for any one of my loved friends and family donating who have been through baby loss.

I don’t see it as taboo or shameful, I see it as human and part of life. Just like mum dying is part of being human and part of life - even though I have wished it didn’t have to be!

It should be our own terms, our own words, our own feelings.

It doesn’t have to be silenced or ignored or forgotten, or fill us full of blame and guilt.

I do see how hard it is to talk about and I do see how beautiful it is to feel validated and seen when someone listens.

I am raising for this charity as it’s close to my heart and mum taught me to fight for what I believe in - our number one cheerleader!

As some of you might know, mum trained as an NCT teacher not long after giving birth to Charlotte in 1997. She wanted to get down to the nitty gritty, take action, skip all the lip service, and provide real support for families she met.

One of her first "students" got to tell her how cool her classes were a couple of months before she died (shout out Kate Kay!). She gave the example of when mum set up a room in her own house where she was hosting the classes to look exactly how the hospital room looked. Mum understood from her own experience what was important to people going into birth and how to make people feel good.

She was a HUGE empath with a BIG BEAUTIFUL heart.

She truly believed that no one should have to suffer alone - and you could tell that by the way she reacted to finding out she had cancer! TALK TALK TALK. QUESTION QUESTION QUESTION. HOPE HOPE HOPE. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
