Story
I am taking on the 11 mile Big Walk for Kids over the Malvern Hills to raise money for the The Summer Camps Trust on Saturday 5th July.
I am joining Chris Green’s Big Walk for Kids to raise funds for children to go on Summer Camps throughout the UK. I have spent many happy weeks working on residential children’s holidays and I have seen first hand how life-changing even one week of happy experiences away from home can be for children.
Chris Green, MBE, founder of Colony Holidays, later ATE Superweeks and The Summer Camps Trust, plans to walk the whole length of The Malvern Hills (all eleven miles of it, taking in the tops of Chase End Hill, British Camp and The Worcestershire Beacon), on July 5th 2025, the day before his ninetieth birthday. He is raising funds to enable residential holidays to be offered to a growing number of young people from all social backgrounds in the UK.
Chris says: “I am hoping to raise a substantial sum (millions if possible) to help make sure that the work I have got going over sixty years through Colony Holidays, ATE Superweeks and The Summer Camps Trust can continue and thrive long after I am dead and gone, and in particular that subsidies are available to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds benefit from these unique experiences”.
Please help me to raise funds to support this wonderful cause.
One week costs £375 and you've now done it you lovely sponsors!!
