Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My brother, Stephen, sadly has been diagnosed with cancer. He has Fanconi Anaemia also, which, for those who are not familiar with the condition, is a rare, inherited generic disease that affects the DNA repair. Over the years, he has had many operations, treatments, transfusions, the works.

As his big sister, I am completely heartbroken, I can’t help my brother but me being me, I’m going to do something for Ste and hopefully for future generations to come.

Before my own health took a tumble, I have done many Race for Life events in the past, for my brother and family but now, my options are very limited. So, as a result of all of this, I’m organising a Family Fun Charity Day for Ste, in aid of Fanconi Hope UK. The charity has supported my family over the years and mean a great deal to us. Fanconi Anaemia is quite a rare and unspoken medical condition. They are only a small charity but the support and work they do for families and people with Fanconi is such a huge lifeline.

I hope by bringing everyone together, raising awareness and money for charity, it might shine some happiness in the most darkest of places.

Event is due to take place on Sunday 25th May 2025, at Worcester Woods Countryside Park, 11am to 3pm. There will be a professional and registered Face Painter, a huge inflatable slide (for both adults and children) and other fun outdoor games. All donations will be going to charity.

If anyone would like to participate or come along on the day, you are more than welcome, the more the merrier. Or if you have any local contacts or ideas, anything at all, please let me know. The main aim of the day is just to have lots of fun, bring the whole community together, raising money and awareness.
