Story

Welcome to our Bake for Cats Competition page! 🐱✨

We're thrilled to celebrate World Bake Day on 17 May by running this baking competition. We want everyone to have fun, get baking and know that by taking part in this activity you’ll be raising vital funds to support cats and kittens in need. This virtual event showcases your fantastic baking skills and unique baking style in various categories. By participating, we hope you get to enjoy a new challenge, eat your tasty bakes but also helping us raise vital funds for Cats Protection Ely & District.

The ‘Best in Show’ winner will receive a hamper of baking supplies plus some treats for your cat too!

Thank you for helping us to make a better life for cats, because life is better with cats (and baked goods!).

How it works:

Round one – Support your local Cats Protection

We will post three categories across the week 25 to 31 May. On the Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. These categories are…

- Best Cat Shaped Cookie. (Whether you want to make paw-shaped biscuits, ice a design or go for the classic cat silhouette any type of biscuit or cookie will be perfect for this challenge)

- Most Colourful Cat Cake (We know cats come in all shapes, colours and sizes so choose a cake of your choice and go to town with colourful décor)

- Best Big Cat Bake - Can you transform your bake to look like a tiger or lion? Perhaps you can take inspiration from the big cats in nature and feel inspired for your baking. Spots, stripes, whiskers and paws your cake might include any of these features

To enter please comment under the competition post for your chosen category and post a photo of your bake. The winner will be selected by the team. Likes and comments will be taken into account so please get involved and like/react to your favourite bakes and ask family and friends to do so too. There is a suggested donation of £3 per entry which can be made on this Just Giving Page. You can also enter for free. The winners will be announced the following week in one Facebook post and have their bake featured for everyone to see.

Round two - regional round

As we are running this competition regionally across East Anglia winners of each category will be entered into ‘Best In Show’. The winner of this round will receive a lovely hamper full of baking supplies and essentials plus a few treats for your inspiration too! Treats for you and your moggy.
