Em runs the 2025 London Marathon for The Beer-Harris Memorial trust

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
In April 2025, I'll be running the London marathon in memory of my friend Joe.
I met Joe at Warwick university, where we spent many an evening laughing until our sides & cheeks hurt. He was a fab sportsman, often going on long and tiring runs like it was nothing - whilst playing a pivotal part of the Warwick Lacrosse mixed & men's teams at the same time!
If you were to tell him that I'm running a FULL marathon - I'm not sure he would believe you. But, I'm sure he would tell me that I could do it easily and that it's 'not that hard, as long as you train'.
And so I shall (or try at least)!
Joe was tragically killed in November 2017, at the age of 21 whilst undertaking humanitarian work in South Africa. Since his death over £60,000 has been raised for the Trust in honour of his memory and in recognition of a young man who loved others, who loved the thrill of a race, and who would have loved to see any donations going towards the Trust.
To that note, any donations are appreciated for an important and worthy cause. You can find more detail about the Beer Harris Memorial Trust and the work they do below:
The Trust makes grants either to community based projects or to research projects that are for the benefit of people experiencing mental health issues. There is an emphasis (but not exclusive) on patients suffering from severe mental illness.
