Emily's Mont Blanc Madness Fundraiser

Emily Ballisat is raising money for FROMS

Mont Blanc August 2025

FROMS is the Parent and Teacher Association for Meridian Primary School in Greenwich. It's purpose is primarily to raise funds for school projects and equipment for the benefit of the pupils. FROMS events encourage staff, parents and friends to come together socially in support of the school working towards a common goal.

Story

After 3 months of gruelling training, I am about to undertake one of the hardest challenges of my life- the summit up to Mont Blanc!

I would be super grateful if you could help me raise some money for my kids' wonderful primary school, which is a local "village school", and needs a new sound system as their next priority item (and operates with one from about 20 years ago). I would love to see my creative kids, and all the others in their classes perform with much better sound soon! The charity is run by the Parent Teacher Association of Meridian Primary School in Greenwich, which I used to be a trustee for.

The sound system is a super duper one with 4 speakers, a sub woofer, 16 channel mixer and microphones.

There are several reasons why this is going to be an interesting challenge (quite apart from the physical and mental aspects):

- I suffered from the altitude on part of the Inca trail near Machu Pichu (so I hope that I cope better this time, at higher altitude);

- The last time I was in the vicinity, I tore my medial collateral ligament in my left knee (when someone skiied into me and off);

- I have taken this up from scratch, thinking it was a good way to hang out with one of my best friends, Natalie. No hurdle too high to catch up with Natalie (who is much more zippy in the mountains it transpires...)

Thank you so much for your support!
