emily collins is raising money for The Hereford Muheza Link Society

Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon · 11 October 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

The Link began in the late 1980's and is the oldest link between UK NHS workers and a foreign hospital. Our main purpose is to relieve sickness in Muheza District Tanzania and a key way of achieving this is by facilitating exchange visits of health workers between Herefordshire and Tanzania.

Story

I’m running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for Muheza Hospice Care in Tanzania, a cause that is very close to my heart.

My mum established Muheza Hospice Care, which provides vital palliative and hospice care to people living with life-limiting illnesses in a small town called Muheza in the Tanga region of Tanzania.

The team does incredible work, often supporting people and families who have very limited access to medical care, helping to manage pain and symptoms and providing practical, emotional and compassionate support at a hugely difficult time.

On the visits I've made to Muheza, I’ve seen first-hand how much dedication goes into this work, and I’d love to help raise funds to support the hospice and enable them to continue reaching the people who need them most.

So, on Sunday 11th October, I’ll be running 13.1 miles through London — and I’d be incredibly grateful for any donation, however big or small. ❤️

Thank you so much for your support!

Please donate if you can and help me raise as much as possible for Muheza Hospice Care. 🙏

Please note the Hereford Link Society is the umbrella charity for Muheza Hospice Care
