Story
This year, I’m marking a huge milestone: four years cancer-free. To celebrate, I’m planning a weekend in the Lake District centred around the things that make me feel most alive — hiking, wild swimming, camping, campfires, BBQs, fresh air, and good people.
It’s not about peak-bagging or pushing limits. It’s about slowing down, being outside, laughing, swimming in cold water, warming up by the fire, and appreciating just how far I’ve come. This weekend is a celebration of life, resilience, and gratitude — and a chance to give back to the charities that carried me through and helped me rebuild afterwards.
I had breast cancer, and these organisations supported me at different but equally crucial stages of my journey:
💛 Charities being supported:
Teenage Cancer Trust – for providing specialist cancer care and support at a time when everything felt overwhelming
EMCT – a sailing charity that helped me rebuild confidence, independence, and trust in my body after treatment
Ocean Youth Trust Scotland – another sailing charity close to my heart, where I now volunteer and see first-hand how powerful these experiences are in restoring self-belief and resilience
This fundraiser isn’t about sympathy — it’s about celebration. Of surviving. Of feeling strong again. Of being outdoors, alive, and moving forward.
Any donation, share, or message of support truly means the world to me. Thank you for being part of this chapter 🫶
