Sadly, John Cubitt passed away gently on 29th of June at the NNUH surrounded by loved ones and prayers. In the past couple of years, he lived with vascular Dementia and Parkinson's symptoms and was cared for by his dedicated, loving wife, Jane.
The family wish to raise money in his memory and celebration of his life.
The chosen charity has a close connection to us as a family - Core Arts. A charity promoting positive mental health and demonstrating the impact of Arts in health, in which every donation will be carefully used to support individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues facing disadvantage with opportunities for creativity and access to education for improved quality of life. John's career as was in education and influencing lives through teaching, sharing skills and using his wit, strong personality and sense of humour to leave a lasting impression on those he taught and knew. Johns daughter supports the leadership and passion that drives the charity's successes in supporting individuals access learning and education, which as a family; we recognise as incredibly valuable. Mental health and wellbeing affects everyone, and the compassion and ethos of this charity aligns with our values and experiences.
John was loved, as a husband, dad and grandad and was a huge part of our lives, and touched many others. We will remember him with kindness and the good times, the glimmer in his eye as he was having you on, his laugh, sweet tooth and his incredible ability to fix just about anything. Thank you for donating - it means a lot to us.
