Story
Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) is a vital UK charity dedicated to ensuring that mothers, parents, and families receive the support they need during one of the most challenging times in their lives. Postpartum psychosis is a severe but treatable mental illness that affects approximately 1,400 new mothers in the UK each year. APP's life-changing peer support network provides a safe space for women and families affected by this condition, helping them feel understood, supported, and less isolated.
My Mum suffered from Postpartum Psychosis after both my brother and I were born. Thankfully, she has fully recovered and now volunteers with APP and works to support other mothers within her NHS role. I am deeply moved by the work APP does. This personal connection fuels my passion to raise awareness about this incredible charity.
I am participating in the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 4th, 2026, with a goal to raise £500 for APP. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Money raised will not only help fund essential services but also spread awareness about postpartum psychosis so that no mother or family feels alone during their journey.
