Emily's International Women’s Day fundraiser for Sophie Hayes Foundation

Emily Death is raising money for Sophie Hayes Foundation

Women's Run Series London · 8 March 2025 ·

Sophie Hayes Foundation is an official partner of Run Through’s Women’s Run Series in 2025! This incredible series offers a supportive, women-only space, with the chance to challenge yourself, and be a part of something big.

Story

Did you know there are an estimated 122,000 people living in modern slavery today? Slavery and exploitation is hidden in plain sight in our communities. It affects many parts of society and business and it is up to us to make choices as active citizens and consumers which do not rely on the suffering of others. Women in particular suffer disproportionately in pernicious forms of exploitation such as sexual exploitation, domestic servitude, and forced marriage.

Those of you who know me will know I care passionately about my work at Sophie Hayes Foundation. This is because at Sophie Hayes, women survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking are supported to live their lives free from exploitation. Survivors can get the tools and community support to rebuild their lives, recognise their great strengths, and make their own choices for the future.

If you want to stand with me this International Women’s Day to assert that you do not support a society and economy in the UK that allows the exploitation of women and to support the work of Sophie Hayes Foundation in providing a lifeline to survivors, I would be enormously grateful if you could consider making a donation!

I will be running 10k on International Women’s Day at the Olympic Park in London as part of the Women’s Run Series. And because I’m a real more is more person and want you all to feel like you’ve got good value out of your sponsorship, I will run 200k across the whole of March!

Thank you for your support.
